MEET MARK
Mark Scott has devoted nearly two decades to serving Corpus Christi on City Council. As a local business leader, he brings practical experience in downtown revitalization and a strong focus on essential city services. His priorities are clear: securing a dependable long-term water supply, restoring residential street funding, and strengthening police and fire protection. He has helped advance Mary Rhodes Pipeline improvements, $35 million in residential street construction, and nearly $25 million in public-safety facilities. Water
During Mark’s tenure in the Council, the City completed critical upgrades to the Mary Rhodes Pipeline, strengthening a vital part of Corpus Christi’s water infrastructure. At the same time, Mark has continued to support the Inner Harbor desalination project despite repeated City Council votes against moving it forward. He remains committed to a balanced strategy of well fields, pipeline upgrades, effluent reuse, and desalination to secure affordable, environmentally responsible, drought-proof water for Corpus Christi.
Street Maintenance
Mark helped authorize major investments in better streets, including a 2025 vote to move citywide engineering work forward for Bond 2024 and other street projects. The voter-approved Bond 2024 program includes $35 million for residential streets, and Mark is committed to restoring reliable, long-term funding so the City can build on that progress and deliver lasting repairs in every Corpus Christi neighborhood.

Public Safety
During Mark Scott’s current term on the City Council, nearly $25 million in public-safety construction has been authorized, including the Far South Police Substation near Del Mar College’s Oso Creek Campus, Fire Station No. 8 on Kostoryz Road, and Fire Station No. 10 on Horne Road. He also supported two replacement fire engines and advanced Police Academy training technology, reinforcing his commitment to equipping Corpus Christi’s local first responders to protect every neighborhood.
